We offer two types of garage door insulation; Gara-Flex (rubber) & Greenstuf (polyester) both of which have a semi rigid composition. Both products are great for both thermal & acoustic purposes and are especially designed to fit the spaces in your garage door to dramatically improve the warmth of your garage.

There is a polystyrene door insulation product on the market however as this is not flexible it needs to be undercut in order to successfully fit it into the door cavity therefore leaving some areas of the door uninsulated which decreases the efficacy of the insulation. For insulation to perform at its best, it needs to have a complete seal. Both of our products (Gara-Flex & Greenstuf) are flexible to manouvere to fit behind the metal framing struts on the sectional garage doors allowing a complete seal on the garage door every time.

Gara-Flex (rubber) Garage Door Insulation:

Material Composition: Made from synthetic rubber compounds

Thermal Performance:

  • Standard - R value 0.68
  • Premium - R value 0.71
Pros: Has a smooth surface, very easy to wipe clean
Cons: Available in one colour only (black)

Greenstuf (polyester) Garage Door Insulation:

Material Composition: Made from 100% polyester (often made from recycled plastics)

Thermal Performance:

  • R value 0.68
Pros: Available in three stylish colours & made in New Zealand
Cons: Textured surface; not quite as easy to wipe clean

We stand by both of our garage door insulation products as they've proved over time how effectively they can regulate the temperature in the garage.
